Barry Foster was born on December 8, 1968 in Hurst, Texas. He played his college football at the University of Arkansas. After leaving school early, the 5’ 10” 218 pound running back was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers with pick 128 overall in round 5 of the 1990 NFL Draft.

One word describes the Pittsburgh Steelers draft – Exceptional. It’s rare to think that every guy you take could, and very well should, make a meaningful impact for a division champion. That is this class in Pittsburgh. Big time prospects throughout. Starting from the top is halfback Rashard Mendenhall from Illinois; he adds the thunder to a now two-back system with Willie Parker. The Big-10 player of the year capped a big year with a huge game against USC in the Rose Bowl. That game may have catapulted him into the first round.

The Pittsburgh Steelers released Joey Porter in the off season which created a need at line backer.  They used their first pick to select Lawrence Timmons who should fit in nicely.  They then selected Woodley in the second round, and he can play outside line backer as well.  The Steelers just got younger on defense and hope to return to their 2005 form with new coach Mike Tomlin.  20Yardline.com Draft Grade / B.
