Injured right guard Shawn Andrews, who has missed the last four games with a lower back injury, was in California Monday to see yet another back specialist.

Andrews, who already has been to three back specialists, was scheduled to be examined by Dr. Robert Watkins, who treated left tackle Tra Thomas when he suffered a season-ending back injury in 2005.

"We've had him see a few different specialists already," Eagles coach Andy Reid said. "We want to make sure we get a clear read on this thing and see if we can find a solution."

Andrews suffered back spasms in the Eagles' 41-37 Week 2 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He hasn't played since. Reid said there's been no indication that the Pro Bowler's back is getting any better.

"He's still hurting," he said.

The season was slipping away for the Eagles and someone needed to make a big play. Juqua Parker and the defense stepped up just in time to send Philadelphia into its bye with reason to have hope. After letting the San Francisco 49ers move the ball almost at will in the first three quarters Sunday, the Eagles' D shut them down in the final 12 minutes.
