Denver Broncos 2008 NFL Draft Grade
Boom or Bust, that’s what Denver gets. With solid prospects drafted throughout, the Denver Broncos seemingly hit gold when Ryan Clady, a Left Tackle from Boise State fell to number twelve overall. This kid will put on some pounds to fill out his athletic frame and will be a perfect fit in Denver's running attack as well as in keeping Jay Cutler upright for a decade to come.

Next comes Eddie Royal, a speedy receiver from Virginia Tech. He could get spot plays early to show his stuff but really is a project for the long term to develop opposite stud, Brandon Marshall. After that, they didn't get helpful pieces until they got Ryan Torain, a halfback from Arizona State, who had burst onto the scene early in his senior year before going down injured. He should be a perfect fit in Denver’s one-cut running style. Torain hits the hole hard, then has great breakaway speed, a perfect complement to bruising back, Travis Henry. Expect seventh round selection Peyton Hillis to start from day one making the running game that much easier. He was a big part of the Razorbacks’ running attack last year opening holes for first round picks, McFadden and Felix Jones.

A pair of sleepers come by way of the Arizona schools in the Pac-10 Conference. Spencer Larsen, a run stuffing middle linebacker from Arizona, could emerge as a starting candidate early as that is an area of concern entering the season for the Broncos. I really like Larsen as he doesn't blow you away with measurements but his production and effort on Saturdays was tough to ignore. Next comes Josh Barrett from Arizona State; he had a higher rating probably after his junior season but stuck around for his final year. He got benched early but regained favor with the coaches to star for an up and coming power out west. He could end up being a big contributor for Denver early and often.
