Lions sign safety Schweigert
ALLEN PARK -- Looking for help on defense, the Lions have turned to a former local prep star, Stuart Schweigert. The free-agent safety, a Saginaw native who was an all-Big Ten standout at Purdue, signed with the team Tuesday.

The team announced Wednesday that 8,000 tickets remain for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay at Ford Field. The Lions have until 1 p.m. Thursday to reach a sellout in order for the NFL to lift the blackout.
