Arizona Cardinals 2008 Draft Grade |
Arizona had many needs to be addressed this year and did a pretty good job filling those holes. With their first pick, they went Rodgers-Cromartie to fill the hole left by Antrelle Rolle’s move to safety. With Calvin Pace leaving via free agency, they needed a player to get to the quarterback. Calais Campbell should fill that void nicely as he could have arguably been selected in the first round. Kenny Iwebema and Early Doucet could move up the depth charts and be good contributors early next season. Doucet, once considered a first rounder by many experts, continued to fall due to the fact that no receivers were taken until round two. The Cardinals picked great with their first two selections; they both have Pro Bowl potential. Their selection of Brandon Keith in the seventh round stands out to me for he is simply massive; if he shows the ability to stay with speed rushers on the edge, he could be a heck of a find. Under the tutelage of Russ Grimm, his career could flourish.
