The Kansas City Chiefs were part of the AFL, starting play in 1960 as the Dallas Texans.  They experienced early success winning the AFL in 1962 and the Super Bowl in 1969.  They were founded by Texas millionaire Lamar Hunt after he was unsuccessful in obtaining an NFL franchise.
