Randy Moss was born on February 13, 1977. After some early legal troubles, he attended Marshall University in 1996. That year he set records for a freshman with 78 catches for 1709 yards and 29 touchdowns. He followed it up with a fantastic sophomore season adding an additional 25-touchdown receptions. Moss is a freak of nature, running a 4.25 forty, and possessing a 6’4” frame with long arms, great leaping ability and soft hands. Going into the 1998 NFL Draft, Moss was desired for his playing ability, but was shunned because of his off the field problems. As a result, he fell too late in the first round and was selected with pick 21 overall by the Minnesota Vikings.

Drew Bledsoe entered the NFL in 1993 as the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. Leading up to the draft there was debate about whether Bledsoe or Rick Mirer would be the first selection in the draft. The New England Patriots made the right decision with Bledsoe, as the 6-5 signal caller had an excellent rookie campaign with 15 TDs and 15 INTs.

Jim Nance was born on December 30, 1942 in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Hot scalding water nearly washed out Jim Nance’s pro football career when he was only four years old. “We had one of those old stoves in our house, and my brother was boiling some hot water,” Nance explained. “When he tried to move it from the stove to the sink, I reached up and pulled his arm. I got scalded. I was in the hospital for 77 days, but I don't even remember it. Some of the water hit my head, and the doctors told me that if it had hit my eyes I would have been blinded. My left shoulder got the worst of it, and they thought it was burned so badly it wouldn't grow normally.” (1)

The Patriots pretty much struck gold when they ended up picking early, thanks to the Niners’ trade a year ago. Jerod Mayo was a late riser for gurus across the country, much like Joe Flacco. The highly touted linebacker from Tennessee will fit nicely in the middle of the 3-4 defense in New England. With the hogs taking up blockers, this rangy player will have plenty of success. He's a sideline-to-sideline talent drafted as a safety net in case Seau doesn't return. Even if he does, he may challenge for playing time.

The debate has raged for years. Who is the best quarterback in the NFL, Peyton Manning or Tom Brady? Up until this season, Manning has always had the best supporting cast on the offensive side of the football. Brady has enjoyed really good players like Deion Branch, Ben Watson, and Troy Brown while Manning has had the likes of Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne, not to mention Edgerin James. In 2004, Manning broke Dan Marino’s single season touchdown mark by throwing 49 touchdown passes in a single season.
